D&D Brewery

Top choice in Western Honduras

Having created Honduras' most pioneering and ethically run hotel, brewery and coffee roastery, American Bobby Durrette is now busy attracting backpackers to Lago de Yojoa (with considerable success). The simple but spotless and comfortable rooms set amid the thick jungle are amazing value and there are tons of options from camping to a huge, more luxurious room with terrace for L1050.

The lodge doesn't have lake views, but is an excellent base to set up trips, from hard-core hiking to genteel birdwatching. There's tons of info for DIY adventures as well if you'd rather explore independently. The passionate staff members are all local and enjoy great benefits including health care, generous wages and on-the-job training. They love their work and this shines through during any visit.
