This high-quality lodge makes an excellent base for the Parque Nacional Cerro Azul Meámbar. Comfy rooms are in the lodge, but sturdy double-occupancy cabins with terraces and calming views over the forrest are expected to be completed in 2019. The terrace of the on-site international-style restaurant is lined with hummingbird feeders and you'll see several species – plus possibly a scavenging coati.
You're pretty isolated here but aside from the 7km waterfall hike, you can kayak on the small reservoir for L220. All the sights and sounds of the wild forest are magnificent.
