Norm’s Place

Haiti

For US$5, a bateau-taxi hop between Plage Belli and Labadie village (ask for ‘Kay Norm’) drops guests at this charming guesthouse built from a restored French fort. Large rooms have four-poster beds with mosquito nets, there’s a garden for lounging, and a warm welcome from the proprietress Angelique (the widow of Norm himself). Meals are home-cooked on advance request.
