There are three tiers of accommodations at the Iwokrama HQ. The spacious raised wooden bungalows overlook a gorgeous bend in the Essequibo River, while the cheaper accommodations share facilities, lack views and are nearer to the loud generator. An even more economical hammock camp is perfect for backpackers, while a two-story octagonal timber building holds the restaurant and offices.
Mix-and-match tours include visits to Amerindian villages, forest walks and nighttime caiman-spotting, with each activity costing between G$2000 and G$20,000.
