Diethnes

Ioannina's most celebrated sweets shop, Diethnes has both French pastries and more Eastern syrupy treats such as its distinctive big, buttery baklava. It also makes its own ice cream, including the traditional creamy kaimaki, thickened with wild orchid root. There's another branch off Leoforos Karamanlis, on the lakefront.
