Solo Brewery

Top choice in Iraklio

Norwegian brewer Kjetil Jikiun started Norway's first craft brewery (Nøgne Ø) before he founded Crete's first craft brewery (he's clearly a man of firsts). There's no taproom per se, but drinking here is a worthwhile excursion for beer connoisseurs. A wealth of IPAs, stouts and porters, and hoppy saisons across five taps and numerous bottles await for makeshift front-patio consumption.

It's 6km southeast of Lion Sq, in the industrial settlement of Kalithea. Bus 14 from Plateia Eleftherias (airport bus stop) drops you within 50m of the taps, but it only heads out six or so times per day. A taxi (€7 to €9) makes more sense.
