Run by the welcoming Sauter family, this streamlined hotel fuses contemporary living with traditional local materials (note the wood shingling on the facade). The bright, spacious rooms have warm tones and ultramodern bathrooms, and open onto balconies with fine Black Forest views. There's an impressive spa area with an indoor pool, sauna and steam room and barefoot path.
The rustic-cool restaurant (mains €24 to €28) serves dishes prepared with fresh, regional ingredients and a pinch of imagination, such as venison with chocolate-balsamic sauce. Quality is top notch.
