If you don't mind a 20-minute tram ride to the centre, this 1697 half-timbered ferrymaster's house, facing Blue Wonder bridge in the riverside villa district of Loschwitz, is a charming option. Run by Italian restaurateurs, it has eight individually designed rooms with lots of retro touches. Breakfast at the downstairs restaurant is expectedly superb.
