Weinhaus Ibald

Moselle Valley

Occupying a 1547 half-timbered building in the little village of Hatzenport, wonderfully local Weinhaus Ibald specialises in Rieslings, sparkling Spätlese, dornfelder reds and Fruchsaft (fruit wine); the ultimate spot for a glass is on the vine-shaded terrace.

Food ranges from homemade onion soup to sausage platters and gorgeous cakes including rhubarb topped with meringue. You can also stay in simple but comfortable rooms (doubles from €70).
