While the Altstadt has no shortage of mediocre restaurants aimed at beer-swilling tourists, this old place stands out for its classic local and German fare, and is especially famous for its Haxen – roast pork knuckles. The menu features a mind-boggling 14 varieties (including a Chinese version) but we recommend sticking with the classic Limburger Haxe.
