This beautifully restored 19th-century pub draws a crowd knocking back their Kölsch in a web of highly individualistic nooks, including a little 'chapel' and a room lidded by a kaleidoscopic stained-glass ceiling. On Tuesdays after 5pm, insiders invade for the freshly made potato pancakes (Rievkooche in local dialect, €5.60 to €12.20).
The wood carving over the main entrance translates as: 'Hops and malt, God preserves'. Outside tables abound.
Lunch mains are €9; dinner goes for €15 to €30.
