This 300-year-old coaching inn was once a stop on the Frankfurt–Milan mail run. Well-kept, light and spacious, the newly revamped rooms (including those suitable for families) have solid oak floors and furnishings. Downstairs is a beer garden and a highly regarded restaurant (mains €10 to €22).
Tuck into dishes such as Tafelspitz (boiled beef) and Maultaschen (pasta pockets) with local wines in the dark-wood tavern or on the terrace.
