A bulky beamed ceiling and a glassed-in Roman stone well (staff appear to be oblivious of its provenance) greet you in the lobby of the 'Red Rooster', contrasting with streamlined rooms offering freshly maintained amenities. The downside here isthe extras – parking costs a hefty €20 a night, as does breakfast.
