In a prime people-watching location on Mannheim's Marktplatz, French-styled Café Journal serves dishes ranging from asparagus-stuffed pancakes and schnitzel to grilled fish and burgers. Breakfast (scrambled eggs, pastries, muesli and cheese and meat platters) is available until 3pm. Live jazz plays every Wednesday evening and Sunday afternoon.
