This memorial exhibit commemorates one of the last major battles of WWII, which took place on the Seelow Heights, a plateau overlooking the Oder River Valley. Some 100,000 German soldiers held off the Soviet advance for about three days in brutal fighting that left an estimated 50,000 combined dead.
