La Baie des Tortues Luth

Gabon

La Baie des Tortues, with an enviable location miles from anywhere right on the beach, has 20 thatched rooms, some elevated for sea views, some round and some rectangular. They are all beautifully appointed, with lovely bathrooms, rain showers and timber floors. There's an excellent restaurant and all vegetables are grown on site. Excursions in the park can be arranged.

A two-day, one-night stay including transfers and meals for two is CFA400,000.

You can also arrange to come here for a day from Libreville; the cost is CFA50,000 per person and includes lunch, drinks and return boat transfers. The boat departs Michel Marine at 9.30am and returns at 5pm. On offer too are 4WD excursions (one hour, up to five people, CFA150,000) and guided walks (per person CFA10,000). These rates include the park entry permit.
