La Pirogue Api

Ra'iatea & Taha'a

Recently relocated to a small and very private motu, the handful of massive bungalows here built from polished wood and thatch all have steps that lead directly into a swimming-pool-blue lagoon; views from the tiny islet take in the four high islands along with massive stretches of shimmering blue water. It’s intimate, friendly and quite luxurious.

No air-con here – but who needs it with the sea breezes puffing in? That said, the motu is very unprotected from the weather and will probably have to be evacuated during storms or high swells. The restaurant has a varied menu and very good reputation, and half-board is 9500 CFP per person. Airport transfers are 8000 CFP per person return.
