Oviri Lodge offers guests the chance to escape and unplug in two hand-crafted treehouse-style villas positioned in the velvety emerald hills above Hotopu Bay. Very ‘Me Tarzan, you Jane’. With wooden furnishings and modern amenities, they represent a nicely judged balance between comfort, rustic charm and tropical atmosphere. There’s no beach, but what this place lacks in sunbathing opportunities it makes up for in ample snorkelling opportunities off the shore; you can also grab a free kayak to get to nearby Motu Oatara. Note that there’s no meal service (except breakfast, 1500 CFP) and you’ll need your own transport because it’s about as remote as it gets.
