Exuding belle époque charm, this buttercup and powder-blue hotel is one of the prettiest buildings in Chamonix. Established in 1840, the hotel's 30 rooms have a classic style: flowing drapes, wood-panelled ceilings and glossy marble bathrooms. There's a glamorous-feeling wellness centre, and in winter a scrumptious teatime cake buffet (4pm to 6pm) greets skiers back from the slopes.
For the full Alpine experience, book the tower suite, complete with slanted ceilings, antique fittings and sledges serving as side tables.
