Le Moulin

Marseille

Despite the name, this live-music venue is actually a repurposed 1950s cinema, not a windmill (which would have made for interesting gigs). Scheduling indie and alternative acts in the main, it's a vital proving ground for young talent from Marseille and around (although it also books more established acts).

The only drawback (apart from the danger of being soaked in beer): it's quite distant from the centre.
