Baroque and beautiful, this fabulous villa was built as a private residence in the 18th century and still feels marvellously opulent. Rooms are more like museum pieces, stuffed with gilded mirrors, toile de Jouy wallpaper and filigreed furniture. There’s a lovely lavender-filled garden to breakfast in, plus a pool, a superb restaurant and a wine cellar.
