L'Avant Comptoir du Marché

St-Germain & Les Invalides

Top chef Yves Camdeborde stars again with this porcine-specialist tapas bar wedged in one corner of the Marché St-Germain covered market-shopping complex. A flying, fire-engine-red pig is the ceiling's centrepiece, surrounded by suspended menus listing dishes such as Bayonne ham croquettes, Bigorre pâté and shots of Béarnaise pig's blood; wines are chalked on the blackboard. No reservations.

Camdeborde's neighbouring addresses include bistro Le Comptoir, tapas bar L'Avant Comptoir de la Terre and seafood tapas bar L'Avant Comptoir de la Mer.
