Run by Michelin-starred chef Christian Constant, this traditional neighbourhood cafe with original bar and mosaic floor cooks up some fantastic staples: poached cod with garlic mayonnaise, herb-roasted chicken or beef stew followed by vanilla rice pudding. Breakfast is served until 11am, more substantial food continuously from noon until closing time.
No reservations: enjoy a drink at the bar or on the pavement terrace outside while you wait. More upmarket Les Cocottes, a couple of doors down on the same street, is another Constant hit.
