L'Hotel du Collectionneur Arc de Triomphe

Montmartre & Northern Paris

Inspired by the trans-Atlantic ocean liners of the 1930s, this grandly proportioned art-deco property near the Arc de Triomphe has an eye-popping lobby with massive chandeliers and chequerboard marble tiles, which opens onto an 800-sq-metre garden. Lavishly appointed rooms (several with balconies) have marble bathrooms and come with a smartphone with free calls and unlimited wi-fi.

Auction-bought art is on display; the spa has a hot tub, sauna and steam rooms; and guests get a reduced rate at the sports complex next door, with a large indoor pool and climbing wall. A range of activities are available for kids, as are babysitting services on request.
