Le Jardin d'Eden

Lyon & the Rhône Valley

Formerly a cinema, it’s amazing what a renovation and an ownership change can do for a place. The young team at the helm of this culinary outpost does a fine job of blending regional cuisine with contemporary style. The risotto and tartares are especially good. Save room for the splendid desserts – the dôme gourmand (a kind of chocolate cake) is amazing.

Bonus: there's a lovely, plant-filled courtyard.
