Villa Chantebise

Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne

Just 300m west of central Besse are two mellow guestrooms, run by the delightful Aurélie in an annexe adjoining her family home. Rooms accommodate couples or a family of four, and there's a splendid continental breakfast (likely to be interrupted by a precocious house cat). There's wooden-ladder access to one room, so it's unsuitable for travellers with limited mobility.

Villa Chantebise is an excellent pick for eco-conscious guests, as breakfasts feature local produce and rooms have dry composting toilets (don't worry, instructions are provided).
