Les Hauts de Chénas

Lyon & the Rhône Valley

Nathalie Fauvin, one of the few Beaujolais female vintners (hinted at in the website’s name), rents out five individually decorated rooms as well as three new fully equipped chalets in her estate perched on a hill above Chénas. The best have panoramic views of northern Beaujolais and the Saône valley. No language barrier here, as Nathalie has lived in the US.

Evening meals (€25) and tasting sessions can be arranged. Of course, you can buy excellent Chénas direct from the cellars. There's also an interesting wine museum chock-full of old tools.
