Moulin Renaudiots

The exterior of this old water mill, run by friendly French-American couple Evelyne and Trevor, is 17th-century stately; inside, it's a minimalist's dream, with vast bedrooms, tasteful colour schemes and luxurious linens. The large, gracious garden comes with a swimming pool, perfect for an aperitif before a sumptuous table d'hôte meal (€54, Saturdays and Mondays). It's 3km southeast of Autun.
