A rustic, historic organic farm is run by generous-hearted owners, who offer three pretty rooms (sharing bathrooms) and an excellent communal kitchen and lounge. It also has boat and bike hire, and a lakeside smoke sauna. A variety of cabins are available too, plus evening meals (€20). Rates for subsequent nights drop by approximately 20%. Breakfast costs €8.
Driving here, head 9km north from Ruovesi on Rte 66, then turn right onto Rd 3481 (signposted to Haapamäki). Continue 9km; the farmhouse is 1km up a turn-off on the left. The owners will also pick guests up from the bus station at Ruovesi for a small fee.
