Amalia

Åland Archipelago

Inside an old farmhouse, Amalia's B&B contains six small but atmospheric rooms, appropriately decorated with floral wallpaper, painted wainscoting and lace curtains. Bathrooms are shared but modern. It's on the main road between Lemland and Mariehamn, but there's nothing in the immediate vicinity apart from idyllic fields dotted with cows.

On the grounds, a big red barn houses a boutique lemonade plant, Amalias Limonadfabrik, whose wares make refreshing souvenirs.
