Hotelli Pallas

Lapland

Built in 1938, this old wooden place up in the fells is just what a weary trekker wants to see. The upstairs rooms are the most modern. Connecting rooms are good for families; cheaper rooms have a toilet but share a shower. There's a good Finnish restaurant, a lakeside sauna (with winter ice-hole), and walks and skiing on the doorstep.

Read about other guests' experiences hiking and skiing the fell in the library. Hikers can pay to shower here.
