Chef Andrew Smith learned his craft in the UK, France and Switzerland before relocating to Finland and wowing Lahti with his modern seasonally driven cuisine. His menu roams Europe and ventures occasionally into Asia – everything is exquisitely presented and absolutely delicious. It's also incredibly well priced considering the quality. Service is friendly and assured, and the wine list is excellent.
The lunch buffet is a particular bargain (€10.50 for soup and salad, €21 to €24 full buffet) and there are three tempting set menus (3/4/5-course €42/47/52) at dinner. The staff are happy for diners to pop in for a glass of wine and antipasto platter (€15 for two persons) between meal services. Bravo.
