Waya Lailai Resort

Yasawa Group

Owned and operated by Wayasewa villagers, this rustic hostel enjoys a dramatic setting at the base of the Vatuvula volcanic plug. Accommodation is tiered over two levels above the beach, and includes dorms (five- or 26-beds), private singles and doubles in a former hilltop schoolhouse, and spacious traditional bures – two of which have cool lofts – with private balconies above the beach.

Village visits, snorkelling trips and diving are available, and you'll kick yourself if you miss out on a sunset hilltop trek; the views are spectacular. The resort is very popular with the sociable backpacking crowd. Meals are all included in the price.

Electricity available during peak hours.
