White Sandy Beach

Yasawa Group

This is not a misnomer: the beach here is indeed white-sanded, as is the floor of the restaurant, bar and surely one of the world's most chilled-out common rooms. It's a wonderfully laid-back place overall, so much so that many guests, unable to drag themselves away from the mellow sea views, drag their mattresses onto the dorm's outdoor deck for the night.

Beachfront bures – some with outdoor showers and bathtubs – are also available.

Swimming is only possible at high tide here, though a steep, 10-minute walk leads to the secluded Honeymoon Beach. Visitors make a $2 donation to the village to visit this little cove, but the pay-off is tranquil waters and decent snorkelling.

Electricity available during peak hours.
