Garden Island Resort

The oldest resort on Taveuni (built 1971), this place has a plain block-like exterior, which opens to a surprisingly chic, streamlined interior. All rooms have balconies or patios; more expensive rooms have private spas. There's a stylish pool, good snorkelling off the rocky beach and a wonderful tree dripping with sleeping bats at the water’s edge. It has an on-site dive shop.
