If it weren’t for the palm trees, pool and waterfront setting, this low-key resort would be right at home in the mountains. Simple dorms, singles and twins have shared facilities. The A-frame chalets have strapping timber frames, modern kitchens and verandahs with slouchy wooden seats. It’s ideal for self-driving, self-catering, self-sufficient types wishing to escape the crowds.
It’s right on the beach and free snorkel equipment is available. Though the menu is limited – there's a lot of pizza – the restaurant (pizzas from $15; open for breakfast & dinner) is fair value (but closed on Tuesday).
