Toberua Island Resort

Nadi, Suva & Viti Levu

The 15 waterfront bure here scattered along the beach have gloriously high roofs, minibars, sun decks and stylish bathrooms. The sunset-facing bar and restaurant serves delicious fresh food, with homemade snacks at cocktail hour and afternoon tea. At low tide the beach is used for golf and there is snorkelling, paddle boating, and tours to the nearby bird sanctuary and mangroves.

Toberua only receives about one-third of Suva’s annual rainfall so the climate is balmy for most of the year, making it a popular weekend destination from Suva. Meal plans cost $160/88 (adult/children). Toberua has a PADI dive shop, and can offer certification. There are around 20 dive sites in the nearby Toberua Passage, with several reefs and coral gardens.
