Matamanoa Island Resort

Mamanuca Group

As would be expected from an upmarket, adults-only resort, Matamanoa is stylish, sophisticated and peaceful. Its 33 beachfront bures and villas overlook a blindingly white, soft-sand beach, while cheaper studio-sized resort rooms have carved-wood interiors and private garden verandahs. Its refined restaurant overlooks the ocean: meal plans are $170, or $110 for dinner only; there’s also an à la carte option.

Activities include free use of non-motorised water sports gear, trips to the nearby pottery village on Tavua Island, champagne-fuelled island hopping trips, and resort diving with Viti Watersports; intro dives $250, two-tank dive $350.
