Beachcomber Island Resort

Top choice in Mamanuca Group

This resort is a wonderful oddity: beloved by backpackers for its anything-goes atmosphere, sand-bar and huge, somehow airy – even with 84 beds! – dorm, the sprawling Beachcomber also welcomes equal numbers of families, who keep to bures and (very) beachfront rooms far from the nighttime revelry. Surprisingly, there aren't any young vs younger battles over the water trampoline and putt-putt course.

Snorkelling equipment is free, as are other activities including crab and broom racing, cultural lessons and coral viewing; diving and other water sports are provided by Tropical Watersports.

The compulsory meal plan is $79: the all-you-can-eat meals here are very good.
