Complejo Turistico El Amanecer

Rio Muni

This complex has a range of rooms: pick one where most things work. Some overlook a destroyed swimming pool, a haven for mosquitoes. Air-con units are old-style and noisy. Rickety thatched cabanas overlook the sea, and the lawn is strewn with cigarette butts and bottle tops. The thatched bar is quite pleasant, though. Ask for a discount during the week.

The restaurant here is large and serves good fresh fish (mains CFA7500). Everything comes with rice, chips or fried plantains. The tablecloths are stained but, on the upside, most of the cutlery is clean. During the week you'll have persuade staff to open for breakfast. It's much nicer to ask to be served in the thatched bar overlooking the sea.
