Guy Fawkes Inn

York

The man who famously plotted to blow up the Houses of Parliament and inspired Bonfire Night in the UK was born on this site in 1570. Walk through the lovely Georgian wood-panelled pub to find Guy Fawkes’ grandmother’s cottage at the far end of the back patio, watched over by a giant wall mural.

The inn also has live music on Sunday nights (from 8.30pm), and 13 hotel rooms.
