An easygoing, country-cottage-styled farmhouse packed with lived-in charm. Heritage-style rooms (cream-and-white furniture, puffy bedspreads, easy chairs) are cosy, and the free afternoon tea of Victoria sponges, cupcakes and fancies galore is reason alone to stay here.

In summer from June to September, nonguests can drop by for cream tea (£6.50, Friday to Sunday 2pm to 5pm); booking advised.
