Harte & Garter Hotel & Spa

Windsor & Eton

This sprawling Victorian hotel rests on its superb location, opposite the castle. Some of its hundred rooms, divided between the main street-front building and an annexe behind, have period trappings such as roll-top baths and dark-wood furniture, and the best enjoy castle views, but most are decorated in a bland contemporary style. There's a guest spa in a converted stable block.
