A posh corner pub near the front in Kingsand, serving Sharp's ales and an upscale menu (pan-seared scallops with pancetta, trio of pork with cider jus). Don't expect too much low-beamed atmosphere – it's light, bright and modern inside, a theme which runs into the small-but-smart upstairs rooms (doubles £80 to £100).
