Oxford

This smart, conspicuous, central brasserie, set in a former bank, could be anywhere in the world, but there’s no faulting its efficient all-day delivery of a tick-all-the-boxes menu that ranges from pizzas and burgers to steaks, roast cod or goat’s cheese, leek and celery pie. The two-course set lunch/early dinner menu (noon to 6pm Monday to Friday, £12.95) is the best value.
