Liverpool Football Club

Top choice in Liverpool

A dominant footballing force for most of the 1970s and 1980s, Liverpool FC remains one of the world's most famous and best-supported clubs, despite not winning a league championship since 1991. Its current crop of stars, led by the magnetic German Jürgen Klopp, play their home games at the wonderful Anfield stadium, north of the city centre.

The experience of a live match – and especially the sound of the fans singing the club's anthem, 'You'll Never Walk Alone', is one of England's sporting highlights. If you can't get a ticket for a game, you can still visit the stadium as part of the Anfield Stadium Tour, which brings fans to the home dressing room and down the tunnel into the pitchside dugout. On match days, the Soccerbus runs from Sandhills Station on the Merseyrail Northern Line.
