Fat Hippo Underground

An arched brick basement houses this city-centre offshoot of Jesmond favourite Fat Hippo. Its namesake Fat Hippo burger comes with double beef patties, bacon, chorizo, cheese, onion rings and secret house sauce; there are some great chicken and veggie burgers as well as triple-cooked fries. The lengthy drinks list includes alcohol-laced shots, shakes and ice-blitzed slushies.
