Dating from 1901, this traditional pub retains original features including Victorian snugs, carved woodwork, stained-glass windows and mosaic tiles. At least 10 hand-pulled ales are on tap; there's also a great whisky selection. Its panoramic beer garden overlooking the High Level and Tyne Bridges incorporates part of Newcastle's medieval city walls.
