Gyle

North London

This lovely boutique hotel in a Georgian terrace house overlooking leafy Argyle Sq feels almost as if it had been dropped into the countryside yet it's seconds from King's Cross and St Pancras stations. The public areas are zany, with a light-filled bar with a textured green baize ceiling and walls, and Archie the Scottish terrier (real or imagined?) is everywhere.

Very green room 24 is spacious while standard room 24 looks to the back.
