Centre of Britain

Northeast England

Just across from where locals claim is the 'centre of Britain', this central hotel incorporates a 15th-century pele (fortified) tower, one of the oldest chunks of architecture in town. The most spacious rooms are located in the historical main building; there are four chalet-style two-level courtyard rooms and neighbouring annex. Not all rooms have wi-fi but two have private saunas.

Another suite is located a mile away (transport to/from the main hotel can be arranged).
